The project All Schools Should Be Art Schools starts with a meeting where we will discuss, together with the ten teachers who participate in the project, several case studies in which the artistic experience preceded the pedagogical one, with surprising results for both students and educators.
Through this project we intend to outline a working framework which we can use to update some of the pedagogical methods by which the arts and artistic activities are taught. The focus is not only on the richness of learning processes through art - games, workshops or other supporting materials -, but also on the importance of the physical and spatial context in which these processes take place. For Italian pedagogue Loris Malaguzzi (Reggio Emilia) they are "the third teacher".
The project starts from the need to create and use learning environments which are up to date and playful, which leave enough space for exploring new ways of studying and learning together, making use of the public and cultural space of the city as resources, of the experience and expertise of other independent educational initiatives and of participatory design.
This project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara European Capital of Culture in the year 2023" and is financed by the Power Station+ program | Creative schools, run by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
