The Education through Art Weekend is the final event of the Post-Education project. Pedagogues of the crisis 2023. Between December 7-9, we will organize a workshop with Diana Serghiuță, we will open an exhibition with the results of the project, of the workshops held throughout the year, a presentation of the experiences of participants Ileana Aciocârlănoai and Alexandra Irimia in the Youth Exchange program of Ars Electronica Festival. We will also have a discussion with Vincent Adali and Leonard Pabisch from the Create Your World program at Ars Electronica Linz, Austria, about their film Die blaue Stunde. As part of the Knowledge Fields station within the TM2023 program, we will have as guests at the exhibition our partners Foc si Pară (Indecis) and Minitremu from Timișoara who will exhibit a series of results of the Out of School and Culture Quest projects carried out this year.
Post-education. Pedagogies of crisis aimed to develop a cultural ecosystem that supports education in addressing current crises (climatic, energy, political, epidemiological, etc.) and in creating strategies for a sustainable future, by capitalizing on the critical and emancipatory role of art and the innovative of new technologies. As part of the project, we would organize a series of events open to the general public, including: the Post-education conference where we invited art theorists, philosophers, pedagogues, etc., exhibitions made by students and pupils from Arad, Timișoara and Bucharest, organized ideas workshops outdoors, several cultural mediation sessions at the Arad Museum Complex and pilot pedagogical workshops with artists from the country and abroad.
Out of School consists of a series of events that focus on the development of collaborative projects aimed at creating intersections between pedagogy and art, and in particular between artists, students, educators and people interested in educational alternatives. Through these meetings, new learning tools can be developed through which contemporary art can contribute to the field of education in the form of experiences of aesthetic and collective development, through which children and young people can come into contact with artistic processes that generate dialogue and reflection, and help them to develop their own outlook on life. It is a pedagogy that continues the tradition of constructivist educators, where learning based on direct experience is the primary focus, and art and critical thinking can best be learned through informal encounters with contemporary artists.
Culture Quest represents a set of events that aim to popularize science through artistic means and alternative pedagogical methodologies, held in collaboration with artists/artists/artistx and institutions dedicated to scientific research in Timișoara. The Culture Quest series of events shifts the focus from technology to scientific research through hybrid actions between science, art and technology with educational content, where the research laboratory becomes a space for the transfer of scientific and artistic knowledge.
