Timisoara Association 2023 - European Capital of Culture, in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute in London, is pleased to present a unique exhibition ‘, FREEDOM - Photojournalism Exhibition’ about the struggle for freedom and its fundamental value in the reconstruction and development of a nation. The exhibition will include historical photographs from Timisoara in 1989 and photographs from the front line of the war in Ukraine, as well as images of Ukrainian refugees in Romania.
Three exceptional photojournalists - Constantin Duma, nicknamed the photographer of the Timisoara Revolution, Vadim Ghirda, an Associated Press photojournalist and Pulitzer Prize winner for his war photography; and Andreea Alexandru, an Associated Press photojournalist, will display historical images that explore facets of freedom. The exhibition will open on December 14, 2023, at 7 PM at the Romanian Cultural Institute London, 1 Belgrave Square, and will be open to the public until January 15, 2023. Admission is free.
