Happy Manif (Parallel Feet) is presented as a delightful choreographed walk, a life-size role play. For this performance, David Rolland joins forces with dancer Valeria Giuga to create a Happy Manif dedicated to choreographers who have used nature as a source of inspiration since the end of the 19th century. Guided by the soundtrack played through headphones and by the two dancers, participants will travel through the history of dance: from romantic ballet to contemporary dance improvisations, through the eccentric performances of post-modern dance pioneers - all, with parallel legs!
David Rolland
As a performer, David Rolland has collaborated with choreographers Odile Duboc, Béatrice Massin, Blanca Li, Mié Coquempot and Laura Scozzi. Since 2004, he has been developing a multidisciplinary creative activity combining dance, installations, cinema and sound editing under the name David Rolland Chorégraphies. His performances seek an intense relationship with dance gestures in order to change its definition. In his participatory performances, a sharing of the tools of contemporary dance humorously invites the audience to engage and see the world through new eyes.
