Inspired by the experiences of a summer school in Spain that I attended this year, the workshop will focus on the relationship between participants and the surrounding nature, on the relationship between participants and technology, and on the relationship between technology and the surrounding nature.
We will analyze the scientific research on emotions in plants, and then, based on empathy, we will answer together with the relevant questions about the relationship of humans with nature, with plants, with forests, etc. The next thing we'll look at is our relationship with technology – and whether or not that relationship is beneficial. Through an exercise of imagination, we will try to mix these two concepts indispensable to man today - nature and technology - and we will try not to imagine concepts / objects / tools / equipment based on technology, intended not to improve the relationship with nature.
We will create work teams and try to make these ideas come to life, through the means at our disposal. Together, we will debate these ideas, have them, examine them and translate them into a product (mockup, photo, video, design, install, etc.) they will work as a team and have the opportunity to translate themselves into the position of visionaries tomorrow.
The workshop is held as part of the Green Week program, "Sabin Drăgoi" College of Arts Arad.
Adelina-Laura Bulibașa
Adelina is a specialist lecturer at the Faculty of Theater and Film, Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Her teaching activity focuses on the two master's programs in English – Interactive Digital Arts and Documentary Film Production.
In addition to teaching, active also as a multimedia artist, specializing in digital art and with experience in the fields of: new media arts, film production, photography and theater. I also show an openness in fields such as robotics, human-computer interaction and light-art.
The main course I teach is focused on Transmedia Storytelling – the technique of telling a story through various dissemination channels, with the aim of creating a unique entertainment experience. It is like a puzzle with several pieces, in which each piece has an area of artistic manifestation (photo, film, new media installation, virtual reality, video game, comic strip, etc.), and in the end, all the pieces manage to fit together in a harmonious way, forming a "complex universe" - that is, a successful story.
Several of these Transmedia projects – Sequentium, Concrete Nests or In-Between Worlds – reached the international festival in Berlin, Porto, and were exhibited at renowned festivals – TIFF or were.
presented at research conferences - ARC (Art Research Conference) at UNATC.
The purpose of this practice is to think "out of the box", to get out of the patterns of a certain artistic field and try to tell a story in a novel, complex way, working in a team with completely different people with artistic skills . completely different. Thus, circumstances will not hinder us from finding creative and unusual ways to make the "puzzle pieces" fit.
