Gender Equality in Cinema: This year’s Special Edition of Les Films de Cannes à Timișoara will take place in October, from the 19th to the 22th. This edition is dedicated to acknowledging the contribution of women to contemporary cinematography and addressing the issues related to gender representation in the related professions of the film industry. The audience from Timișoara will have the opportunity to meet important figures from the world of cinema in their own city and to view some of the finest films of the year, which have received awards at major film festivals, either as premieres or exclusive screenings.

The Special Edition Gender Equality in Cinema brings an exceptional conference to Timișoara, open to the public, featuring a significant number of female directors, producers, actresses, agents, and casting directors. They will share their work background and engage in discussions about their experiences in the world of filmmaking. Additionally, the audience will have the opportunity to meet them during Q&A sessions, masterclasses, and open talks within the festival program.

In addition to a rich program of films directed by women, this year's Les Films de Cannes à Timișoara presents an outstanding lineup. The audience will have the opportunity to see the latest films by acclaimed directors such as Aki Kaurismäki, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, and Wim Wenders in premiere, as well as the winners of prestigious awards like the Palme d'Or (Cannes) and the Golden Bear (Berlin).

Furthermore, Les Films de Cannes à Timișoara will also host 'Managing Talents,' a program dedicated to professional actors, aimed to help them increase their chances of appearing in European films, by facilitating meetings with international casting directors.
