The exhibition Made-up histories have long lives is a story about histories. The visitor is encouraged to experience it as a visual essay with corresponding stations, each station a point of view, an interstice, an affective transmission, a made-up history. The exhibition expands on the definition of ‘classical ethnographies’, through questioning the ways in which humankind builds-up and canonizes its own histories: which fragments of history are deemed more deserving of research, study and discovery? What peoples become more attractive over others, what artistic acts become histories, and what aspects of histories end up having ‘long lives’? Could histories be nothing more than made-up stories?
REMIX ID
Tradition and contemporaneity. Symbol and graphics. Rhythm and pulsation.
REMIX ID is a call for solidarity between ethnicities, between various social groups, between urban and rural, between people. REMIX ID proposes intercultural dialogue in a creative way that appeals to both the senses and the intellect, using art as a medium to spread a message of tolerance, peace and good understanding by making up an artistic mosaic of art, ethnographic research, documentaries, music and images, in which the ancient meanings of the ethnic communities of rural Banat meet the highly technological world of the urban environment.
