We sought a synthesis between the arts of stillness and the arts of movement. We wanted to see it at work in the dancer's body, the only one capable of uniting sculpture and rhythm. We were also looking for an exercise in shaping and traversing space, shapes drawn by the movements of the body and stillness as an act. From these thoughts, the performance "Sculpting Space" was born, which questions the relationship between body, matter, the space in which it takes place, and the audience; each of these components having a well-defined role in the understanding of the whole act. In addition, "Sculpting Space" also proposes the immersion in spaces of different dimensions, even with different utility and specificity, following a journey into what we define and feel as "space". What does the audience leave behind after visiting a space? What lingers after the act of a performer? What kind of thoughts, emotions, movements are retained?
