The storytelling workshop is dedicated to teachers from the partner schools, with the aim of equipping them with methods and resources for integrating creative writing and storytelling into the school curriculum.
The activity is coordinated by Robert Şerban, writer, journalist and television personality, author of poetry but also of several volumes of literature for children and youth. Robert Șerban, with his vast and diverse experience, will provide teachers with writing techniques and strategies to create a dynamic and interactive learning environment. From poetry to prose and from personal narratives to imaginative explorations, the workshop will cover a wide range of literary styles and forms, giving teachers the tools to bring the magic of words into their classrooms.
This meeting will focus on how storytelling can be used as a learning tool and help teachers create lessons that stimulate creativity and critical thinking by using stories as means of exploring local culture and history. Through this activity, we aim to open new horizons in terms of educational methods and resources, placing a special emphasis on capitalizing on the cultural and historical heritage of Timișoara through narrative art and storytelling. Thus, stories become a bridge to knowledge and self-knowledge, offering a unique perspective on the world around us.
By engaging in this creative process, the workshop promotes an integrated and sustained approach to cultural education in schools, improving teachers' abilities to connect the school with local realities and stories. Robert Șerban, through his experience and passion for literature and for the culture of the city, will guide the participants in discovering and capitalizing on Timisoara narratives as means of enriching the educational experience. This activity involves educators in the creative process, ensuring a holistic and sustained approach to cultural education in schools, a bridge between education and the cultural heritage of Timisoara, but also an open invitation for teachers to rediscover the city through the eyes of literature, transforming every story in an engaging and memorable learning tool.
Using the example of Timisoara as a source of inspiration, teachers will be able to guide their students to express their own vision of the city and actively contribute to the preservation and promotion of its cultural heritage. This approach will enrich the school curriculum and will also encourage students to become more aware and engaged citizens in their community. The skills obtained in this workshop will serve as a foundation for the development of future educational projects, which will capitalize and explore in depth the cultural identity of Timișoara.
