On Friday, June 21, 2024, at 7:00 PM, Triade Sculpture Garden (Calea Martirilor nr. 51), will be transformed into a festive gathering place. We warmly invite you to our first event in the series within the Triade Garden - a Polymorphic Space.
The Neighborhood Ball is a "family reunion" for all residents in the area. Our goal is for everyone to feel like hosts to each other, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Bring cakes to share with neighbors, whether known or unknown, bring a blanket to relax on the grass, and most importantly, don't forget to bring a smile for others.
The evening's program includes a traditional picnic and a live concert by the band Le Petit Bal de Poche from Paris, France.
The project "Triade Garden - Polymorphic Space" is the necessary emanation of needs and opportunities developed in a specific historical and social context in a new neighborhood in the southern part of the city, known as the Braytim area, derived from the combination of the names of the two cities - Saint-Jean de Braye and Timișoara - which, immediately after the 1989 Revolution, decided to build a neighborhood of individual houses. The city expanded, and a new neighborhood emerged with a completely different population compared to its immediate surroundings - the communist-era apartment blocks that remained as a legacy, giving rise to a new urban cluster of individual houses isolated in a still heterogeneous structure, without institutions or buildings covering the minimal necessary social functions that give coherence to a neighborhood. In this context, parallel to the process of forming new urban structures, the Triade Foundation was founded in 2000, headquartered in one of these newly built houses. Over the course of its 20-year existence, however, the social and urban context surrounding Triade Garden has changed. The garden has become a point connecting the old neighborhood with its neighboring areas.
"Our goal is to transform Triade Garden into a hub for various cultural dialogues, an educational resource, and a meeting place for the community," says Sorina Jecza, president of the Triade Foundation.
