Among the negative behaviors reported in school environments, we can identify a high degree of verbal and physical violence. Peace, the central theme of the project, thus becomes the context through which we aim to correct certain behaviors and give children the opportunity to discover, through modeling and positive examples, alternative behaviors that can have a formative impact.
Based on children's stories about peace, creative reading and writing workshops give children the opportunity to reflect on important themes, developing their cognitive and emotional intelligence by creating an educational environment where they ask questions and seek solutions.
The stories selected for these activities provide benchmarks and role models for students, highlighting real people who have changed the world. Books promote tolerance, understanding, but also civic involvement.
During the workshops, secondary school students from Secondary School No. 1 will write their own texts about peace, democracy, human (and children's) rights that they will present at the opening of the exhibition World Peace, at the Center for Projects Timișoara on May 24, 2024.
The workshops will be facilitated by Andrada Mazilu and are carried out in a closed circuit.
