Cinty Ionescu is a Bucharest based artist with a constant interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and live experiment. She is committed to exploring new expression forms in the field of live performance, at the crossroads of visual arts and live music, of stage theatre and digital theatre, installations and augmented reality. Most of the projects initiated by Cinty feature video documentations. The artist worked on over 40 theatre plays and dance pieces and performed hundreds of live shows which include multiple collaborations with musicians. Cinty presented her shows, mostly with a live component, on numerous national stages and in international contexts. She was awarded, in 2011, the
Excellence Award for Outstanding Video Design at the FringeNYC for the work in Nils' Fucked Up Day by Peca Stefan.
In the past ten years Cinty initiated different multimedia projects by directing, documenting and curating: ROMANYEAH! (audio-video performance, ICRNY, 2012), Traces of destruction on Mars (performative multimedia installation, Odeon Theater Bucharest, 2013), embodied enescu mix (multimedia dance show, ArtistNe(s)t, Fundația Gabriela Tudor and The National Museum "George Enescu" Bucharest, 2013), In Between Two Pills (theatre show using augmented reality, 2015) and Contrapartida (show- experience created in for the immersive projection space Cinetic, 2017).
In addition to the performative situations with which she began her career, Cinty collected personal stories of depression in an interactive online documentary called The Hidden Face - https://fataascunsa.ro/ (2016, co-financed by Arcub) and created the immersive multimedia exhibition Green Hours Live(s) about the history and activity of almost 30 years of Green Hours and its initiator, Voicu Radescu (2022, co-financed by Arcub).
