Victoria PATRASCU is a children`s book author and playwright, and one of the founding writers and vice president of “De Basm - The Writer`s Association for Children and Young Adults.”
Her debut book, “The day the sleep ran away” (Nemi Publishing House, 2008; Cartea Copiilor Publishing House, 2017) was met by great popularity among the audiences and was later adapted in both stage and radio plays.
In 2012, she published the “Oaky, the best Dady Tree” (Cartea Copiilor Publishing House), one of the finalist books in the “Good for Print” Gala.
“Wordless Ela” (Cartea Copiilor Publishing House, 2016) was not only included in the White Ravens Catalogue (2016), one of the most distinguished international children's book catalogues, but it was also translated and published in Turkey by the Masal Seramik Evi (2021) and will soon be translated and published in Macedonia in 2023 by Cudna Suma Publishing.
In 2017 she wrote ”Lampio and the light grain,” a play that enjoyed over a hundred representations at the Stela Popescu Theatre in Bucharest. The same year she received The Prize for Excellence for Children's literature granted by Radio Itsy Bitsy.
Twenty other books followed.
Since 2018, she has been working on building and managing cultural projects and events together with her colleague at De Basm. These projects are often aimed at children from disadvantaged backgrounds in order to draw them closer to the world of books and stories.
