"Where the Rivers Meet" is a radio essay, halfway between documentary and fiction, taking its source in Montbéliard, a city where many rivers have been diverted, buried, channeled... It attempts to reveal the invisible links that connect the inhabitants of a city undergoing profound change, where communication seems to become increasingly complex.
Where the rivers meet is pure sound poetry, daringly interweaving voices, sounds, and music. It speaks of daily life through the dystopia of a flood. If all the rivers of Montbéliard were to overflow and invade the city, the words of its inhabitants would surface. There would be silence, water, respite, and encounters.
A sound creation by Antoine Richard, co-written with Samaële Steiner.
Produced by MA Scène nationale in Montbéliard, France.
