Starting from July to December of this year, the campus of the Politehnica University of Timișoara becomes a platform for social, cultural and urban regeneration. UPT Creative Campus is a programme initiated by the Politehnica University of Timișoara and the League of Students from the Faculty of Automation and Computers. What is a university campus? A physical space that aims to belong to a community of students, but in the case of the campus of the Politehnica University of Timișoara it is also a symbolic space that stores countless histories, roles and meanings gathered over the last 100 years. In the next 6 months, the UPT Creative Campus project will try to recover these histories and stories and outline a present identity of the space.
1380 students, 60 young researchers, 130 university teachers, 50 specialists and invited experts, 200 students, 50 pre-university teachers and 10 project partners will be involved in this pioneering project which will host exhibitions, events , workshops, urban and artistic interventions.
The project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded through the Grow Timișoara 2023 programme, implemented by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
