Culinaria Banatica is a gastronomic project that proposes a transdisciplinary vision of the cuisine of Banat historical region to build a bridge between the academic area, the gastronomy area and the general public, both local and tourists.
The project approaches the authentic Banatian cuisine not only from the perspective of the traditional distorted in time as an understanding of the old kitchen. The coagulation of a modern trend in Banat cuisine is done through a series of events designed to make the transition between the old cuisine and the new Romanian cuisine. The lack of continuity of the culinary culture, by separating from the authentic from the communist period, can be done, first of all, by placing the baggage of local recipes in a natural order.
The Banat region is an area with a rich and diverse culinary tradition, influenced by its multicultural history and culture. Culinaria Banatica aims to bring this gastronomic heritage to the public's attention by organizing events, workshops, tastings and culinary presentations.
One of the particularly important aspects of the project is the emphasis on the use of local ingredients and traditional products. Thus, Culinaria Banatica promotes not only local dishes, but also the way they are prepared and served, as well as the history and culture behind them.

The project also involves collaboration with local restaurants and producers, so as to create a strong and sustainable network to promote the gastronomy and culinary heritage of Banat. This can also have a positive impact on the local economy by increasing tourism and sales of local products.
In conclusion, the Culinaria Banatica cultural project represents an important and valuable initiative for the promotion of the culinary and cultural heritage of Banat, by capitalizing on local ingredients and products, collaborating with local producers and restaurants and involving the community in the promotion process.
Culinaria Banatica started as a theoretical project, as a research grant within the West University of Timișoara. The project was designed under the leadership of teacher Otilia Hedeșan. The transition from theory to practice was made thanks to Mrs. Corina Macri, who had the initiative to contact her and propose to her to start this project together, in partnership with the Ho-Re Tim association.
The project itself does not have 2023 as its finality, it is only the completion of the financing of the proposed events and the creation of a structure that will continue to represent our cuisine.
