I am happy to invite you to a presentation of my work as a visual artist who has been working with photography for over 15 years, at Indecis Artist Run Space on June 13 at 6:30pm. I don't often do artist talks, so I plan to share my thoughts on photography and have an open dialogue with anyone interested in contemporary art, especially socially engaged art. This is the first time I'm speaking at an event that is not organized by a gallery, biennial or media trust, so I look forward to meeting artists and young people in Timisoara who are interested or flirting with photography and to speak without any constraints.
I will talk about my practice and working methods, starting from my latest project, Birth and Death in Orsova, a documentary work about the newest city in Romania. The town was partially demolished and rebuilt in the 1970s for the construction of the Iron Gates, but the authorities' promises of a better life never came true for the residents. Since the 1990s, life in Orșova has been in accelerated decline, although the topography and geographical position could be a great advantage.
The second project I will tell about is a long-running one, under the theme "Place. Living. Place', under which I have recently treated landscapes from the life of man's best friend.
