Asociația Cinemascop is a non-profit organization that aims to develop cultural projects, as well as professional training in the field of the audiovisual, cinema and other related interdisciplinary areas. The organization was founded by director, screenwriter and producer Cristian Mungiu. One of the key objectives of this NGO is to contribute to the understanding of the visual arts phenomenon, to educate and familiarise the public about film culture by organising specific events, activities, manifestations and programs, designed to lead to meaningful dialogue and debates. The events that we have produced other the years include art film festivals, film caravans in the country, masterclasses, competitions or meetings with representatives of the national and international film industry. Educating and training young audiences who consume visual art is a priority, especially in the field of cinema, with an emphasis on the interpretation of audiovisual language.

Cinemascop also aims to attract strategic partnerships for the development of these cultural projects, as well as for the involvement in this phenomenon of as many organizations, institutions or companies that can support the growth of the audiovisual field in Romania. Among the most representative projects carried out by the Aociația Cinemscop are the American Independent Film Festival and Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest, two festivals that showcase each year the most important films and names of the international industry, with a focus on the films presented the same year at the Cannes Film Festival.
