We prepared for you a series of JAMzz nights. Take this as a warm-up for JAZZx 2023. Let's recharge our batteries with good vibes and lots of jazz energy. We JAZZ together!
BATUKIZER (CPH, Danemarca)
Behind the Batukizer name, you'll find Carla and Rasmus. Batukizer has been pioneering Brazilian rare vinyl mixtapes on major worldwide channels like Le Mellotron and My Analog Journal, bringing the tunes and energy to match any jazz, electronic, or any other groove based music. Having played in clubs and festivals on several continents from Oslo to New Delhi to Paris, Berlin to London, and São Paulo, the BTKZR DJ sets are compromised of hand-picked, infectious dance tunes (mostly) on vinyl from a vast collection representing Brazilian sounds from the 60s to the 90s.
EDGAR RAMIRO (Amsterdam, Olanda)
Bringing such a wide range of sounds and styles and mixing this in his own unique style, he will always find ways to surprise people and set any dancefloor on fire. You can find him playing at his “The Houseplants Show AMS” at Echobox Radio, doing solo shows at Radio Tempo Nao Para, and his monthly residency at Cornerstore. Recently he has been playing at clubs and festivals in the Netherlands and abroad such as Dekmantel Selectors, Wildeburg, Paradiso, Garage Noord, Weelde, Brilliant Corners, Unit 58,1900, Sissi’s, and more.
*MAJ (a.k.a. My Analog Journal) is a YouTube channel that curates vinyl-only mixes on a weekly basis. Every mix focuses on a certain genre, country, or region, era, or simply an idea or a theme. It all started with Zag Erlat in late 2017. He found his new passion and desire to create more vinyl-only episodes and share the music he loves with the people of the internet, which eventually turned into an online community.
*Jazz re:freshed is created by Justin McKenzie & Adam Moses as a music movement that started with a humble vision in the early summer of 2003. The movement was built around its weekly live residency in the heart of West London, covering the whole spectrum of jazz and jazz-influenced. Everything that’s fresh about jazz is hopefully reflected in the philosophy and delivery of Jazz re:freshed and its numerous projects – the colour, the creativity, the artistry, the boundless expression.
