We invite you to discover science at the intersection with art, technology, architecture and culture, through conferences, workshops and exhibitions held on the premises of the Politehnica University of Timișoara.
We have prepared 3 main routes for you to explore this night:
1. Science Route

Night of Open Laboratories - 22 laboratories within the UPT where visitors can learn more about the UPT Racing Team, the Hydrogen Bike, game development, traffic engineering and other fields that will support Romania's tech future;

Science & Wine - stories about Artificial Intelligence over a glass of wine, with UPT researchers;

Science at midnight: presentations by renowned international researchers, such as Mihaela Zăvolan - professor of computational and systems biology at the Biozentrum of the University of Basel, leader of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and Adam Somlai-Fischer - architect and interaction designer, co-founder of Prezi. On the SCIENCE route, visitors can also enjoy other immersive experiences that will arouse their curiosity.

Spotlight Heritage: virtual reality experiences offered by Spotlight Heritage, an organization that tells the multiple stories of Timisoara through digital technologies, stories of cultural and historical heritage, of technical development, of communities and neighborhoods, of yesterday's and today's residents.

Exhibition at the UPT Library - HISTORY of UPT scientific patents (patents)
2. Art route

Bright Cityscapes Exhibition: "Atlas of Distances" - the works of nine local and international students;

MV Sci-Art exhibition: Porous Matter - works made by artists together with researchers from UPT and Norway;

THE FACE installation, brought to you by BCR: interactive installation by artists Thomas Voillaume and Florian Girardot. Presented in the form of a giant bust onto which 360 images are projected, the installation brings into question how the image of people is reflected online in the digital age.

Experimentarium: the immersive installation Physic - A.I. Garden by British artist Alex May.

Bega River Heritage - immersive installation made by Spotlight Heritage at the UPT Campus Creativ space.
3. The Community route

Within the campus you will have a relaxation area created with the support of AUCHAN, a chill area with food trucks, music and other spaces to provide memorable moments during the event.

The pavilions of the Faculty of Architecture that will be able to be explored;

Emotional and mental health workshops, self-care facilitated by CCOC (UPT Career Counseling and Guidance Center)

Activities dedicated to students and children made with the help of InEdu
The event is part of the "European Researchers’ Night", an initiative which aims to present science to the general public, but this time in a new context, bringing it closer to the curious minds using art, technology and architecture.
The Open Campus Night is held under the high patronage of the European Parliament.
