Violin recital – Paganini pieces, performed by Agigheoleanu Antonio-Leonard
Paganini 5, Paganini 9, Paganini 19, Paganini 20, Paganini 24, Sonata in A Major, Sonata “Prayer” (Fantasia of Moses)
The violin concerto was included in the program for a very special reason. The father, Farkas Bolyai was a music teacher for twenty years, and music was very important in the family. The son, János Bolyai learned music from a very young age and was also an excellent virtuoso on the violin and wrote an important work on music theory. János, long before the activities of the "Second Viennese School" (Zweite Wiener Schule), wrote a manuscript about the possibility of 12-tone composition. On a violin concert poster dated 1843, there are two sections where the pieces performed by János Bolyai are listed, and these pieces are Caprices and Sonatas composed by Paganini. At the violin concert scheduled for this festival, will be heard pieces selected from Paganini's works, which will be performed by Antonio-Leonard Agigheoleanu violinist from Timișoara.
The project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded through the Grow Timișoara 2023 programme, implemented by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
