Two young people, Emma and Berni, students at Nikolaus Lenau High School in Timisoara, follow in the footsteps of the writer's biography in her native village, Nițchidorf. The community's current perspective on Herta Müller is candidly investigated, and the identity dilemma that feeds her work is one of the film's fulcrums.
The documentary film is a collaboration between Romanian and Hungarian TV producers in the Literature Saved project, which brought together German-language writers from the two neighboring countries in a debate.
