Adrian Costache and Claudiu Gaiu, presents the book Pedagogy of Autonomy by Paolo Freire. It is the first work translated into Romanian by one of the most important thinkers of the 20th century. In the philosophy of education proposed by Paulo Freire, literacy and cultural edification lead to the acquisition of a political consciousness.
"It is impossible to become a critical teacher, if you repeat mechanically and by heart inert phrases and ideas, instead of provoking. The intellectual who memorizes (...), who talks about his readings as if reciting them from memory does not understand any relationship - even when it exists - between what he has read and what is happening in his country, in his city, in his neighborhood. (...) It's as if all the books he devotes so much time to have nothing to do with the reality of his world. The reality that the books deal with is the idealized one, of a school that disconnects more and more from the concrete." Paulo Freire
