The Timișoara 2023 Association - European Capital of Culture, in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid and the Honorary Consulate of Romania in the Canary Islands, under the auspices of the Romanian Embassy in the Kingdom of Spain, is pleased to present the photography exhibition "Timișoara Incognito - Free of Stereotypes." The exhibition will open on December 1, 2023, at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and open to the public until January 8, 2024. Admission is free.
The exhibition showcases 53 carefully selected photographs, the result of the photography contest "Timișoara Incognito - Free of Stereotypes," initiated by the Timișoara Association - European Capital of Culture 2023, in collaboration with the West University - Faculty of Arts and Design. The jury, consisting of Mădălin Mărienuț, Ion Gherman, and Constantin Duma, was responsible for evaluating and choosing those creations that convey authenticity, creativity, and a free perception of Timișoara. The curator of the exhibition is Elena Aronoaie-Adorian.
Each displayed photograph is accompanied by the artist's name, indicating whether they were a winner or finalist, the contest category, the title, the date, and the place where it was taken.
The four thematic categories - Cultural Enthusiasm, Architectural Heritage, Urban Exploration, and Special Guest - enrich the exhibition with various perspectives on the city. This valuable project is part of the official Timișoara - European Capital of Culture 2023 Program.
