Come visit the Common Heritage exhibition in Hungary! As part of the Common Heritage - The Tale of Four Cities project, we are bringing to Szeged the exhibition which explores the common heritage of the four cities (Timisoara, Szeged, Subotica and Odesa).
Curated by Anca Majaru, the exhibition aims to identify the common elements of the architectural heritage shared by the four cities and to celebrate the cultural diversity that characterises these cities. Interestingly, although separated by borders, they share decorative elements of the Secession style, specific to the period of the 1900s.
Eight artists from these four countries (Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Ukraine) used the same architectural elements selected from the research carried out throughout the whole project and illustrated them through the vision of each one. The artistic interpretations of the 8 artists testify to the common language of European culture and the potential for creative interpretation of cultural heritage.
Accompanying the 80 illustrations, there will be exhibited photographs taken by Răzvan Iliescu and Vitaly Malitsky in the four cities mentioned.
Join us at the opening of the Common Heritage - The Tale of Four Cities exhibition, on December 5th, from 17:00 in an amazing location in Szeged, called Szent-Györgyi Albert Agóra. The Agóra is an independent institution of the Szeged City Municipality which organises high-quality leisure programs, events, and activities for children, students, young adults and elderly and works as an urban scientific and cultural centre.
It is a citadel of science and culture, learning and entertainment, and most of all, learning while having fun, which is unique in its kind even nationally. In the four-story, huge, special, environmentally friendly building rich in architectural solutions, visitors can take a wonderful journey together into the past and the future, into the world of computer technology and biology, and they can meet - since it is an "agora" - not only with experiences, but also with each other.
