Urban Instances: The Good, The Bad, and the TimID intertwines art, education and community and takes place in the partner educational units and in the urban space of Timisoara, giving artistic expression to the city through several mediums of visual expression, but also through guided study by professionals of the Timișoara exhibitions and by making their own final exhibition.
The sections of the project – The Good (urban painting), The Bad (camera obscura) and The TimID (urban photography) – are designed to address educational and community identity gaps in the field of visual arts.
Urban Painting, led by Ștefan Curelici, transforms urban landscapes into vibrant classrooms, fostering a deeper connection between students and their environment. Claudia Bucsai's camera obscura constructs pinhole devices that offer an intimate engagement with photographic development, enhancing technical skills and historical perspectives. Lect. Univ. Dr. Mădălin Marienuț propels the students in the field of urban photography, combining technology with the artistic expression of urban identity.
This project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara European Capital of Culture in the year 2023" and is financed by the Power Station+ program | Creative schools, run by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
