The Center for Projects of the Municipality of Timișoara organises between 11 to 18 October a visit of Moldovan cultural actors and representatives of public agencies and administrations to Timișoara.
The activity is organised in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in the Republic of Moldova and the Representation of the Solidarity Fund Foundation of Poland in the Republic of Moldova and is addressed to cultural and community actors, together with representatives of local and central public administration and Regional Development Agencies of the Republic of Moldova.
The aim of the visit is a better mutual knowledge and learning between representatives with key roles in the development of programmes and urban public policies that take into account the role of culture, as well as to highlight the opportunity for growth and change represented by the National Cultural Programme "Timisoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023".
The agenda includes visits, presentations, discussions, moments of reflection and a cultural programme that will together provide a broad and nuanced perspective on the ecosystem of public services for an integrated development of the city, with the contribution of culture, as well as the overall design of the city's public policy and management system.
Participants will meet key players in the local public administration and the Western Regional Development Agency, public, private and non-profit cultural operators and will learn about and problematise the reform and practice of integrated urban development, applying principles of good governance and capitalising on opportunities such as the European Capital of Culture.
The most important questions we will try to answer concern the role of infrastructure and cultural heritage in changing cities for the better, who are the key community actors for smart and inclusive cities, the role of cultural projects, strategic planning, digital tools, participatory governance and cultural projects.
