During the April meetings, we will mainly address the topic of the collective development of the project idea and the co-design of the training tools.
We continue the program LA PAS: education for change, addressing teaching staff in Timișoara interested in inclusion in educational activities for sustainable development.
This year, we will mainly address the topic of the social and environmental impact of the clothing industry. We aim to expand the learning community by collaborating with different local artists, designers and artisans, involved in the development of sustainable clothing solutions and the promotion of a responsible consumption model.
The working methodology proposed by the CRIES association is based on the principles of experiential learning, facilitating the development of real learning contexts, so that students and teachers can participate in concrete actions to experiment with responsible consumption, from which they can extract concrete elements of individual behaviors and group, through which we become actors of sustainable development.
The program is addressed to teachers from pre-university education in Timișoara interested in getting involved in activities that contribute to the development of their own professional skills as well as responsible consumption behaviors among students and their families.
The training program lasts for 16 hours, including 8 training sessions, which address the following topics:
- building knowledge on the objectives of sustainable development, with an emphasis on Objective 12. Responsible production and consumption: we aim to develop skills among teachers to identify and use correct, up-to-date and scientific information.
- the training of professional skills necessary for teachers involved in education for sustainable development: we will discuss new skills that are needed, how they can be developed, the role of the learning community, volunteering and participation in actions that facilitate the teacher's authentic knowledge of a social issue.
- developing a culture of cooperation: the development of local partnerships necessary for the implementation of education programs for sustainable development.
- measuring the impact of education for sustainable development: what kind of changes are we aiming for? Among the students? Of the teachers? Parents'? Of school infrastructure? How do we measure them? What are we measuring?
- the collective development of a project idea on the social and environmental impact of the clothing industry, to be implemented in several schools in Timișoara (by adapting it to the target group, the age of the students, etc.)
- preparation of work tools, their presentation and valuable feedback
