Among the negative behaviors reported in school environments, we can identify a high degree of verbal and physical violence. Peace, the central theme of the project, thus becomes the context through which we aim to correct certain behaviors and give children the opportunity to discover, through modeling and positive examples, alternative behaviors that can have a formative impact.
Starting with children's stories about peace, the creative reading and writing workshop gives children the opportunity to reflect on important themes, developing their cognitive and emotional intelligence by creating an educational setting in which they ask questions and seek solutions.
The stories selected for this activity provide benchmarks and role models for students, highlighting real people who have changed the world. Books promote tolerance, understanding, but also civic involvement.
During the workshop, secondary school students from Secondary School No. 1 will write their own texts about peace, democracy, human (and children's) rights that they will present at the opening of the World Peace Exhibition, organized at the Center for Projects Timișoara on May 24, 2024.
The workshop will be facilitated by the writer Ramona Miza and Andrada Mazilu. The activity is dedicated to students from Secondary School No. 1
