The Memory Labs opens to the public an intriguing space, on the border between the Cetate and Fabric neighborhoods, in an innovative format that combines contemporary art with a widespread but ignored practice, namely pragmatic preparation for leaving life. We open the space of the association to tourists from Romania and Central Europe for a cultural experience combining anthropology and visual arts.
Artist Renée Renard showcases an interesting archive of almost 100 years old documents in Romanian, Hungarian and German. The graphics of the exhibition is signed by the visual artist Ciprian Chirileanu.
We invite younger generations to explore the older world of paper and iron cabinets, to connect with people and times before social networks. We inspire the public to have courageous conversations with family members, to reinterpret concerns and behaviors beyond everyday familiarity in the wider context of social isolation and fragmentation, and to show more often affection and appreciation for older generations.
