REMIX ID, one of the flagship projects for multicultural Timișoara, has carried out, over the last 5 years, an extensive research on the ethnicities that have contributed to what we can call "Timișoara's identity card" and how traditions and cultural heritage play an essential role in shaping new contemporary typologies through visual arts, electronic music and new technologies. 

The exhibition "Made-up histories have long lives" held at MV sci-art expands the concept of classical ethnography by interrogating how humanity constructs and canonizes its own histories: what, in history, gets to have "a long life". The works in the exhibition reveal several definitions-illustrations of ethnography, either using artistic research methods close to academic methods, or through approaches to ethnographies on imagined, science-fictional, or affective-rhysmatic subjects.

The title of the exhibition Made-up histories have long lives is a direct reference to anthropologist Ida Susser, who said of Thomas Belmonte's publications "good ethnographies have long lives" and explores the idea of fiction-reality and ethnographic limits.
