In the last thirteen years, the Blecher Institute reading club became one of the oldest and most
notorious events for contemporary literature in Bucharest and Romania – an efficient
promoting vector for poetry and prose, through its 275 editions (approximately 24 editions
per year, weekly or twice a month + the 19 exclusively online editions) in which more than
500 writers from over fourteen countries were invited to publicly read.
Sunday, the 23rd of April 2023, the 276th edition will take place in Timișoara, where three
countries will meet through three writers: Marjan Čakarević (Novi Sad, Serbia), Anda
Vahovan (Chișinău, Republic of Moldova) and Alexandru Mărtinaș from Timișoara.
The event’s moderator will be the poet, translator and anthologist Claudiu Komartin, who
organizes this reading club since 2009, being chief-editor of „Poesis internațional” Magazine
and Max Blecher Publishing House and editor for „Tomis” Magazine.
