On Sunday morning the flea market in Mehala hosted a... theatre show. It's part of the ROD Festival project, initiated by director Florin Iepan and radio and TV personality Călin Meda. The two started from a simple idea: that forgotten and marginalised segment of the population cannot be ignored any longer. In recent years, the ROD caravan has visited closed communities, neighbourhoods, hamlets, villages, prisons, children's homes and old people's homes. Over the years, film screenings, theatre performances, concerts and photo exhibitions have been presented here, where the main characters have been the residents of these forgotten places.
In Mehala, right next to the barbecues on which the little ones were sizzling - according to some, the best in town and, anyway, a must if you go to the ocico - the show "Huoooo!" by the Auăleu was played. In the audience, fans of the nonconformist theatre from Timișoara, but also enough customers or sellers from the market. For some, it was the first time in their lives that they had attended a theatre performance.
