The performance is based on an African folk tale, "The story of the little girl Nsangi and the hungry chimpanzee", which has similarities with other European fairy tales ("The three-legged goat" by Ion Creanga or "Little Red Riding Hood" by the Brothers Grimm), with similar messages: the belief in tolerance and acceptance, the victory of good over evil, the need to protect the little ones from the dangers of the social environment, the chance to rehabilitate the "bad ones".

The event aims to be inclusive and specifically invites neurodiverse and differently abled people. In this sense, the organizers have prepared several accessibility facilities (smiling volunteers for orientation, sensory kits, anti-noise headphones, brochures in easy-to-understand language, tactile elements, etc.).

African Stories, a BIS Teatru production, directed by Bogdan Sărătean, is an event within the project Unity in Diversity - Romanian and African Fairy Tales, implemented by INTERAKT ARTS Association, in partnership with BIS Association and with the support of Diogene Association.
