The Suttyomba Folk Ensemble from Hungary will perform a mini-concert composed of the folk songs collected by Béla Bartók front the different ethnic groups of Banat. Guest artist Okányi Mihály will coordinate the folk dance evening for young people and adults, with music provided by the Suttyomba ensemble. The specificity of such an evening is that the participants are involved by the coordinator in learning steps and folk dance figures, explaining the specifics of the areas and the customs of those places.
*in case of favourable weather, the concert will be held in the courtyard of the Bartók Béla Theoretical High School in order for it to house a larger audience, and the Folk Evening will be held in the high school's Festivity Hall. In case of bad weather, the concert will also take place in the Festivity Hall.
The project is part of the national cultural program Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023 and is financed by the OverBorder Culture+ program, run by the Center for Culture and Art of Timiș County, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture
