Bucharest Art Theatre
By Neil Simon
With Andreea Mateiu and George Constantinescu
Directed by George Dogaru
Daring, gentle and inexperienced in adultery, Barney Cashman wants to join the sexual revolution before it's too late. Barney is in his early 40s, has a good marriage, two kids and a successful business, but is going through a mid-life crisis. And he realizes that his entire existence can be summed up by the word "cute". And "nice" isn't enough for him. So he wants to act out his fantasies and secret dreams and have an affair with another woman.
Extramarital is written by Neil Simon, one of the most successful and effervescent contemporary American playwrights. Simon has written over 30 plays and film scripts. In total he has had 17 Tony Award nominations and won 3 times. The play originally premiered on Broadway in December 1969, and the show has been performed 706 times.
