Robert Piotrowicz is a composer and sound artist, co-founder of Musica Genera.
Piotrowicz's music embraces the abstractness of subjective sound, its physical essence, as well as the complex constructions of synthetic composition. Moving between intensity, intimacy and sensuality, the artist aims to fill and dominate the sonic space while making the experience inclusive. Piotrowicz composes for electronic and acoustic instruments, and in addition to works realized in the studio, he has written for Ensemble Phoenix Basel and Apartment House. As an improviser he collaborated with a number of musicians: Anna Zaradny, Burkhard Stangl, Kevin Drumm, Jerome Noetinger, Spencer C Yeh etc. He has made scores for feature films, documentaries and theatre plays. Author of installations, radio plays and music videos. Piotrowicz collaborated with visual artists, actors, writers, etc.
