October marks a new achievement for the Locks on Bega project. Alongside the artist Cătălin Bătrânu, we've succeeded in giving a new identity to an abandoned urban object. The Ramp is a structure that everyone passes by, but few know the details about. It was built during the communist years and was used to dispose of snow from the city streets into the Bega River. Trucks were loaded with snow and then came to unload it directly at the ramp. Those were the times when we had a lot of snow... Today, it's just a concrete urban structure with an unusual shape and position for many of the city's residents.
On October 24, we invite you to join us for the unveiling of the artwork ”Let it slide”, created by Cătălin Bătrânu, a work that draws an analogy between the climate changes we are experiencing, advancing a critical hypothesis regarding pollution in Bega and its shores. It represents his own interpretation of global warming and the imbalance caused by continental desertification (a phenomenon we are also facing in Banat).
It's an atypical unveiling, on the water, aboard the Pelican. Since space is limited, please confirm your participation by providing your personal details in the form below. We depart at 5:00 PM from the D'arc pe Mal pontoon and sail to the "Turbine" and back for approximately an hour and a half. See you on the water!
