"H2O: Transition" is an art installation that invites the public to contemplate water and its significance, as it is an element found in all life forms.

We invite you to the "H2O: Transition" event, an art exhibition opening on Friday, November 3rd at 6 PM at the Water Museum (26 Urseni Avenue, Timișoara). On this occasion, you can explore the multimedia installation created by Livia Mateiaș, as well as the Water Museum. Admission is free.

Below, you can read some thoughts from the artist Livia Mateiaș regarding this project:
"In my artistic practice, I often use natural elements in the form of multimedia installations to represent various concepts. This time, I aimed to illustrate the water cycle in nature between its three forms -solid, liquid, and gaseous. I am fascinated by the fact that the same water exists in different forms on Earth from its origin to the present. We share the same water in our bodies that was on Earth in the time of dinosaurs. Water that has transformed over time into ice, liquid, vapor, and has been consumed by plants, animals, and humans, has become a part of glaciers, stones, leaves, and our bodies. I consider water to be a sacred element, without which life as we know it would not exist. This motivates me to draw attention to the ecological perspective in which we use water. Water pollution, the disruption of natural rhythms, the accelerated melting of glaciers, and the storage of large quantities of water in private pools are elements that can disrupt the cycles of life. In addition to the ecological perspective, gratitude for this simple yet fundamental element of life urges me to contemplate and analyze. Often, people do not realize that it is a miracle and a blessing to have water at the tap. A visit to the Water Museum can make us a little more aware of the effort required to purify water and obtain a glass of drinking water."
