The conferences in this series respond to an increasingly acute need in society, namely the huge amount of fake news that circulates related to scientific topics in various fields. These conferences aim to popularize scientific themes to attract a diverse audience, which will develop a critical apparatus regarding the informational baggage that circulates in the media on scientific topics. At the same time, these conferences open doors to the academic environment and show that academic effort has concrete implications in society. Also, this series is addressable for the corporate audience, with a theoretical background in the exact sciences, but also for students and pupils with interests in this area, many of whom are already familiar with podcasts popularizing scientific topics, made by authors such as Cristian Presură, who is one of the guests this year. The popularity of this series among the corporate audience, but also among high school students, was already proven in 2022, when hundreds of people participated in each event, including students from outside Timișoara.
